Role Overview:
As a Commercial Lawyer, you will be pivotal in advising on all commercial matters, ensuring that the strategic requirements of the organisation are met. T
Key Responsibilities:
Lead by example, embodying the Police Code of Ethics and reinforcing values of dignity, fairness, and respect.
Advise and direct commercial projects of unlimited value on behalf of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) and West Yorkshire Police (WYP), negotiating and drafting legal contracts with national and multi-national corporations.
Undertake all forms of conveyancing work, including disposals, site acquisitions, leases, and licenses, to protect the interests of the organization.
Navigate public procurement rules and processes to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
Provide legal representation in contractual disputes and facilitate legal representation in commercial litigation.
Draft and negotiate various contracts, including media agreements and collaboration agreements, ensuring the best financial outcomes.
Maintain an accurate property records system and assets register of Police land and buildings.
Who We're Looking For:
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified Legal Executive/Solicitor.
- Substantial post-qualification experience in a relevant area of commercial law.
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with contract and/or public procurement processes.
- Experience in public sector property work.
Personal Attributes:
- Willingness to work flexibly and travel for business purposes.
- Access to a vehicle for business use is desirable.
