We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects, including residential and commercial buildings. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

* Construct, assemble, and install structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard.

* Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.

* Perform heavy lifting as required for transporting materials and tools.

* Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks.

* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and building codes.

* Fabricate wooden structures such as frames, doors, windows, and furniture.

* Install roofing systems and ensure proper plumb alignment of structures.

* Collaborate with other tradespeople including electricians and masons to complete projects efficiently.

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role is essential.

* Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

* Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 40 kg) as needed on job sites.

* Knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous but not mandatory.

* Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.

* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

* A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
