roject Manager – SHDF / Net Zero Retrofit Delivery
Location: Site-Based – Cambridgeshire (initial focus CB6)
We’re seeking a Project Manager with proven experience in delivering SHDF or net zero retrofit programmes to lead the delivery of a major decarbonisation scheme across Cambridgeshire.
This is a contractor-side role, focused on delivering key energy efficiency upgrades to occupied social housing as part of a phased rollout starting in Q3 2025.
Project Scope
You’ll be managing the on-site delivery of:
External Wall Insulation (EWI)
Solar PV installations
Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
The initial 9-month phase is focused in the CB6 postcode, with expansion into the wider Cambridgeshire region in subsequent phases.
Team & Responsibilities
As the Project Manager, you will lead a site-based delivery team of 4–5 staff, overseeing all aspects of:
Programme delivery and coordination
Site operations and subcontractor management
Resident liaison and disruption mitigation
Health & safety compliance
Quality assurance and reporting
Project Timeline & Growth
Phase 1: £4m delivery over 9 months (2025/26)
Phase 2: Forecast increase to £8m+ in FY26/27, subject to successful delivery
✅ Ideal Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running with:
Hands-on experience delivering SHDF, ECO, or Net Zero Carbon programmes
Background in occupied property retrofit, ideally managing EWI, PV, or ASHP installations
Familiarity with PAS 2035 standards and site-level compliance
Strong team management, programme control, and stakeholder coordination skills
Experience delivering works for or alongside energy providers such as E.ON, British Gas, etc.
