Our dynamic and growing property development client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant & Office Manager to join their team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations and day-to-day office management of the business, helping ensure smooth and efficient workflows across the company.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounting
* Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
* Manage accounts payable/receivable, invoice processing, and payment runs
* Reconcile bank and credit card transactions
* Prepare VAT returns and assist with year-end accounts
* Support cost tracking and budget reconciliation
* Liaise with external accountants and HMRC
* Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records
Office & Administrative Management
* Oversee office supplies, services, and utilities
* Maintain well-organised digital and physical filing systems
* Manage compliance documentation, insurance records, and company policies
* Coordinate diary management, meetings, and travel for directors
* Liaise with external consultants, suppliers, and contractors
* Support onboarding of new staff and subcontractors
Project Financial Support
* Track construction costs and generate cost reports
* Maintain loan drawdown records, funding schedules, and interest tracking
* Assist in budgeting and cash flow forecasting for development projects
Key Requirements
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and VAT rules
* Proficiency in QuickBooks (preferred) and Microsoft Excel
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Self-motivated, organised, and reliable
* Experience in property, construction, or project-based sectors is advantageous
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
* AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience)
* Additional training in office management/administration is a plus

Salary: £30k - £43k per annum depending on experience
