The Commissioning Engineer - Projects role comes with a salary of £42,000-£52,000 depending on experience, paid overtime, company vehicle, bonus scheme, and long-term development opportunities within a stable, family-owned organisation.

Responsibilities and duties of the Commissioning Engineer role

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will:

Lead the testing and commissioning of generator systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and client requirements
Act as the lead commissioning engineer on site, managing commissioning activities through to completion
Collaborate with Design Engineers and Project Managers during internal planning and design meetings
Coordinate commissioning activities with external stakeholders including M&E contractors, BMS engineers, DNOs and client teams
Manage commissioning programmes safely and in line with project schedules
Record test results, witness final testing, and compile commissioning and handover documentation
Deliver on-site handover training to client personnel
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and assist with installations where required
Travel nationwide with regular overnight stays

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Minimum 3 years' experience in generator commissioning or a similar role
Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems
Experience with ComAp and Deep Sea control systems
Familiarity with commissioning software such as ComAp PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite
Experience with multi-set systems, synchronisation with mains, and G99 testing
PLC programming experience
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
