Teaching Assistant
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Contract Type: Permanent - full time - 32.5 hours per week - Term time only
Salary: 24,790 - 25,183 per annum

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a school based in Chichester where all are valued and supported through a personalised curriculum that both challenges and inspires individuals to reach their full potential.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping to promote their educational and social development. Working under the guidance of teaching staff, you will contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction of teaching staff.
Provide pastoral support and establish supportive, productive relationships with pupils.
Participate in the assessment of pupils to identify those requiring targeted help.
Support the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring Plans.
Encourage smooth transitions between key phases and reintegration of pupils who have been absent.
Provide guidance and feedback to pupils to support learning, behaviour, and attendance.
Liaise with feeder schools and external bodies to gather relevant pupil information.What We're Looking For:
NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent qualification or relevant experience).
GCSE grade C and above for Maths and English
Experience working in a school environment.
Understanding of child development and learning processes, especially barriers to learning.
Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
Willingness and ability to travel between locations across West Sussex if required.
