This is a full-time role with the strong potential to become permanent for the right individual. The school is seeking a caring, motivated and resilient Pastoral Support Assistant who can work closely with students, staff, and families to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning. You will play a key part in the pastoral team, helping to create a safe, supportive and encouraging environment where every student feels valued.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Providing day-to-day pastoral support to students across the school

Building positive, trusting relationships with young people who may require emotional or behavioural support

Supporting the pastoral manager and safeguarding leads in responding to concerns

Monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour data and student wellbeing indicators

Supervising students during non-teaching times, including break and lunch duties

Liaising with teachers, parents/carers and external agencies where necessary

Helping to implement behaviour strategies, restorative approaches, and targeted interventions

Supporting students in managing conflict, developing resilience and improving engagement

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with young people in a school, youth work, social care or similar support setting

Be calm, empathetic and able to remain professional in challenging situations

Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills

Be organised, proactive and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

Be able to work effectively as part of a caring and dynamic pastoral team

Show patience, understanding and a genuine desire to help students succeed
