Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant - SEMH School, Enfield

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist SEMH school in Enfield seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from January 2026.

The school supports pupils aged 5-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, using modern, research-informed approaches rooted in attachment theory and neurobiological understanding. Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing, structured, and engaging environment where every pupil feels heard, understood, and motivated to succeed.

Your Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and associated needs

Help pupils achieve targets set out in their EHCPs through personalised interventions

Promote wellbeing, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning

Work alongside teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral team to remove barriers to learning

Support a creative, flexible curriculum that includes integrated sensory breaks

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with pupils with SEMH or additional needs (school or similar setting)

A calm, empathetic and consistent approach

A willingness to learn and apply modern, trauma-informed strategies

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
