We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller to join a growing retail business based in Bolton. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function while partnering closely with senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and continued growth.

As Financial Controller, you will lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and strong governance across the business. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who combines technical excellence with proven people management skills and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced retail environment.

In this pivotal position, you'll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management, while driving process improvements and supporting commercial initiatives. If you thrive in a leadership role and enjoy influencing the wider business, we'd love to speak with you.

Key Skills

* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
* Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally within retail or a consumer-facing environment.
* Strong people management skills, with experience leading, mentoring, and developing finance teams.
* Excellent technical accounting knowledge and experience with month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting.
* Commercial mindset with the ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders and influence decision-making.
* Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Comfortable operating in a growing, change-oriented business environment.
