SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD)

We are delighted to be recruiting for a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cheshunt, supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing environment where every child is given the support and attention they need to thrive.
About the Role:
In this role, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support children with ASD, helping them to access the curriculum and build their confidence both academically and socially. You’ll be providing 1:1 support and small group interventions tailored to the needs of the pupils, helping them develop key skills and encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with ASD
• Assist with educational and emotional development
• Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs
• Liaise with SENCO and external professionals
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:
• Previous experience working with children with ASD is essential
• Calm, resilient, and nurturing approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Passionate about making a positive impact in SEN education
• Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
