Year 1 Learning Support Worker – CF24

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the CF24 area of Cardiff who are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Worker to join their Year 1 team from April.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners at a key stage in their development and wants to make a real difference in the classroom.

The role will involve:

Supporting pupils in Year 1 with their learning, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery
Providing encouragement, structure, and emotional support to help children stay engaged and confident
Supporting early literacy, numeracy, and phonics sessions
Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting (school, nursery, childcare, tutoring etc.)
Is patient, enthusiastic, and confident supporting young children
Has a genuine interest in education and child development
Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Holds (or is willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS registered on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
