Van Technician / LCV Technician — Reading, Berkshire — £21.50 p/h (~£44,(Apply online only)) + OT (x1.5) — Flexible Shifts, Permanent

Join a professional fleet workshop in Reading as a Van Technician / LCV Technician / Fleet Vehicle Mechanic / Light Commercial Vehicle Technician / Van Mechanic / Service Technician. You’ll maintain, service and repair a wide range of vans and light commercials—on flexible shift patterns to suit your circumstances—with great benefits, overtime at 1.5x and a structured upskilling route into HGV if you want it.

The role — Van Technician / LCV Technician / Fleet Vehicle Mechanic

Repair and maintain LCVs/light commercials (major & minor faults) to manufacturer/DVSA standards
Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance
Diagnose faults and plan effective repairs using modern diagnostic equipment
Complete service records, customer paperwork and warranty documentation accurately
Carry out wheel alignment, tyre fitting and manufacturer‑specified repairs
Help keep the workshop organised, safe and well‑stocked
(Optional) Upskill via a structured programme to progress into HGV Technician roles
What you’ll bring

Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI in LCV/Van Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
Proven experience diagnosing, servicing and repairing vans/LCVs/fleet vehicles
Ability to identify worn/faulty components to DVSA standards
Full UK driving licence (relevant classes)
Strong teamwork, communication and attention to detail
Pay, hours & type

Rate: £21.50 per hour (approx. £44,(Apply online only)/year) + overtime at x1.5
Shifts: Flexible patterns and working times to suit individual circumstances
