Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Capital Accountant to take ownership of high-value capital projects and lead on fixed asset accounting across the business. £63,500 - £70,500 | Permanent + Generous benefits & flexible working

Key Responsibilities:

Own and manage all aspects of the Fixed Asset Register, including disposals, asset life-cycle tracking, and capital grant compliance.
Lead on capital accounting and reporting—ensuring financial data is accurate, timely, and aligned with FRS, SORP, and organisational strategy.
Act as a trusted advisor, offering strategic and operational finance guidance to project and business leads.
Partner with the Asset & Sustainability and Sales divisions, supporting project delivery through insightful analysis and controls.
Handle complex data sets using Excel and in-house systems, maintaining the highest level of financial integrity.
Develop and implement robust systems and processes for asset data collection and validation.
Mentor and support an Assistant Capital Accountant, promoting growth and continuous development within the team.Experience Required:

CCAB-qualified accountant with current CPD and a strong background in capital and fixed asset accounting.
Hands-on experience with inventory, investments, and complex capital environments—ideally in housing, real estate, or regulated sectors.
Strong understanding of FRS 102, SORP, and capital grant regulations.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with D365, Power BI is highly desirable.
Able to manage and interpret large data sets and drive data-informed decisions.
Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident engaging stakeholders at all levels.
