Instructor – White Goods (x1) & Cover Tutor – White Goods Support

Salary:£30,000 to £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Overview:
We’re looking for a skilled White Goods Instructor and a Cover Tutor to join a prison learning environment at Milsike HMP. You’ll use your expertise in domestic appliance repair to teach, mentor, and support learners, helping them gain practical skills and build confidence for future employment.

White Goods Instructor – Full-Time (x1)

Responsibilities:

Deliver practical training in white goods repair (washing machines, fridges, cookers, dryers).

*

Support learners in developing technical and employability skills.

*

Maintain a safe, well-equipped workshop.

*

Monitor learner progress and provide feedback.

*

Collaborate with colleagues and prison staff to create a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience repairing domestic appliances (essential).

*

Level 3 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).

*

PAT testing qualification (desirable).

*

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Salary: Up to £34,000

Cover Tutor – White Goods Support

Responsibilities:

*

Support learners during workshops and practical sessions.

*

Assist with tools, equipment, and safety standards.

*

Cover sessions when the instructor is unavailable.

*

Motivate and encourage learners in a secure environment.

*

Willing to work towards a Tutor qualification

Requirements:

*

Practical experience repairing household appliances (essential).

*

Good communication and teamwork skills.

*

Positive, supportive approach to mentoring learners.
