Working: The role offers flexible working but does require engineers on site for 3 days per week and is a on secure site where SC clearance is needed.
The Stress Engineers will collaborate closely across multi-disciplinary teams to develop the mechanical solution
The team the Stress Engineers will join are responsible for the structural and thermal performance within the business.
This team deliver structural and thermal analysis expertise across the whole product lifecycle from studies in the early concept stage and detailed development of engineering designs to manufacturing concessions and in-service support.
The breadth of work within the team can provide opportunities to gain experience across a wide range of structural analysis disciplines, including but not limited to: Classical hand calculations; CAE Modelling (Static, Dynamic, Fatigue, Aeroelastics, Non-Linear, Impact, Kinematic), Qualification & Design Testing, Fault Investigation & Loads Derivation.
Skills, Qualification and Experience
Degree qualified in a relevant engineering / science discipline or have significant experience in a relevant field (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Analysis etc.).
Demonstrable experience in assessing structures (e.g. aerospace) using both classical hand calculation methods and CAE tools (Hyperworks desirable).
Experience in estimating, planning, leading and delivering structural analysis work packages, possibly under supervision.
Capable of preparing and presenting technical reports, conveying complex findings and recommendations.
Proactive and passionate about developing and improving methods, processes and tools.
Self-motivated individuals who are great problem solvers, can take responsibility and work independently as well as a part of multi-disciplinary team.
Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to network and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
