Position Description The Controls Project Engineer role is a key position within the projects team, assisting the project managers with day to day on site running of the larger projects on the books. The engineer will be assigned to one large or multiple smaller projects at any one time, with a dotted line in to the overall project manager for that particular job. A mixture of office and site work will be required, including some supervision of sub-contract installers where required.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned technical and engineering projects
Project engineering support – documentation, des-ops, points schedules, engineering diagrams
Site surveys / progress reviews where necessary
Liaise with Customers and Project Engineers / Managers.
Provide reports detailing where and how controls projects and products can be improved for greater quality & profitability on delivery
Customer connection to update of progress on commissioning works
Help maintain a high standard of quality control across the department
Responsibility for delivering assigned work load on time and to a high standard
Uphold project & product quality
Maintain brand reputation #LI-TS1
Required Education & Qualifications
Experience within a project engineering environment
Experience with Tridium Niagara 4 & AX software and controllers
Ability to operate to a high level in a fast paced environment potentially on multiple projects simultaneously
Logical and methodical approach to problem solving using own initiative is a must
Awareness of the BMS/HVAC industry, its technology and application
Have good written & communication skills including report writing
Strong interpersonal / organisational skills
The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
Team player
CSCS or equivalent held (or willing to undertake)
SSSTS / SMSTS or willing to work towards
Competent electrical knowledge and understanding of electrical schematics
HVAC and/or BMS knowledge, capable of understanding engineered systems
Experienced with site/construction works and knowledge of relevant H&S standards
