Role: Site Manager - Social Housing Retrofit Works
Location: St Ives & Surrounding Area
Package: £50,000 - £55,000 (Basic Salary) + Package
Spencer & James are recruiting a Site Manager for a leading Tier 1 contractor to deliver a Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) scheme in St Ives & surrounding area.
You’ll be at the forefront of this scheme, managing the roll-out of External Wall Insulation (EWI), Solar PV panels, and Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) as part of the journey to net zero.

What you’ll be doing:
* Running day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to high quality standards
* Coordinating teams of subcontractors, operatives, and suppliers to keep everything on track and running smoothly
* Reporting on progress, flagging issues early, and ensuring clear communication with the wider project team
* Handling all documentation and handover with precision to support timely invoicing and strong cash flow
* Attending inspections and providing practical input into design solutions for planned retrofit works
What you’ll bring:
* Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering social housing planned maintenance or retrofit works (Solar PV Installation)
* Hold relevant qualifications - CSCS Black Card, SMSTS, First Aid at Works
* Confident leadership skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
* Solid IT knowledge – including Word, Excel and Outlook
* A keen eye for safety, quality and compliance from start to finish
