GSL Education are welcoming applications for the position of ECT Teacher of Maths to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Newcastle from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Early Career Teacher looking to complete their induction in a supportive and dynamic environment. 

About the Role:

As a Maths ECT, you will deliver inspiring and engaging lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, fostering a love of mathematics and supporting pupils in achieving their full academic potential. You will be supported by a dedicated induction mentor and an experienced department committed to professional growth.

Key Responsibilities of the ECT Teacher Maths:

Plan and deliver high-quality maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.
Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
Assess and monitor pupil progress through effective feedback and differentiated learning strategies.
Participate in departmental planning and CPD sessions to refine your teaching practice.
Uphold school policies, particularly around safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion.
Engage with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupil development and achievement.
Job Requirements of the ECT Teacher Maths:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Specialism in Mathematics with a strong understanding of the UK curriculum.
Excellent classroom management skills and a willingness to learn and develop.
A positive, enthusiastic, and reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement.
Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
A genuine passion for teaching and supporting young people to succeed.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
