Maintenance Facilities Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Facilities Engineer to join our team in Norwich.

Whilst this is a site-based role in Norwich, there will be travel 3 times a week to Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft, using your own company van.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical, mechanical, and building services maintenance across a range of client properties.

This includes carrying out fault finding, repairs, general maintenance, and installation work, helping to ensure our clients’ facilities remain fully operational and compliant.

The role requires a hands-on, practical engineer who can work independently and maintain strong service standards in a dynamic environment.

You will also be expected to undertake Authorised Person duties for either mechanical or low-voltage electrical systems, depending on your qualifications and experience.

While previous experience in this area is preferred, we are able to provide full training and support for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage mechanical/electrical PPMs and reactive works via the helpdesk to exceed customer expectations

* Lead safe work practices as part of the ISS Low Voltage Authorised Person Community

* Supervise competent electrical workers and building services maintenance tasks

* Control and monitor contractors, including issuing Permits to Work

* Ensure equipment operates to standards and maintain professional customer service

* Proactively liaise with clients and ensure contractual and administrative compliance

* Maintain H&S compliance and suggest service improvements and innovations

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

* City & Guilds 2230 Level 3, NVQ 2356/2357, or City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical Installation

* AM1 and AM2 qualifications; City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS:7671:2018) preferred

* Preferred: Inspection & Testing qualification (2394/5), Low Voltage Authorised Person qualification, IOSH Managing Safely, Emergency First Aid

* Full UK Driving Licence required

* Significant experience in mechanical/electrical building services maintenance, fault finding, installation, inspection, and testing

* Experience in Authorised Persons duties, reactive and PPM maintenance, FM/building services in commercial properties, and working under strict H&S procedures
