The position attracts an annual basic salary of: £37, 826 plus overtime if required, paid weekly. Hours of work: 37.5 hrs / week. 07:00 to 15:00 Monday - Friday.
Overview
The successful candidate's primary role is to perform hands-on machining and fabricating parts for various types of aircraft components. Incumbent should be able to carry out various standard tool room tasks using the following equipment:
Bridport vertical miller
Pillar drill
Colchester NC lathe
Surface grinder
Brenner NC vertical miller
In addition to the machine room operations, the candidate will work in tooling room using following equipment:
Romer Scan Arm and Geomagic or Spatial Analyzer Cad software.
Leica Laser Tracker and Brunson Optical Equipment
MIG Welder
Standard Calibration and measuring tools
Duties and Responsibilities
· Design and manufacture basic tools and fixtures, manufacture parts such as bushings and inserts and carry out machined operations on aircraft parts in accordance with Engineering data.
· Competent in utilizing tool specifications, setting up and adjusting machine, selecting proper speed, machining the work piece, observing the operation, checking the accuracy with appropriate gauges, and measuring instruments.
· Use all types of measuring instructions such as micrometers and dial indicators and other measuring tools.
· Carry out bond tool inspection using the Romer Scan Arm and Geomagic or Spatial Analyzer Cad software.
· Inspection of aircraft assembly jigs using a Leica Laser Tracker and Brunson Optical Equipment.
· Comparison of aircraft components using the Romer scan arm.
· Manufacturing of caul sheets, tools and shop aids.
· Maintain the tooling calibration database and ensure all electronic and hardcopy data is maintained in a safe manner according to the Tooling procedure.
Minimum Requirements
Recognized apprenticeship / vocational Maintenance Machinist program with a minimum of five years' hands on experience in Machinist field.
Experience of using a Mig welder and basic fabrication
Ability to have computer soft skills such as: Microsoft Office and Internet.
