ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER - PROGRESSING TO ENGINEERING MANAGER
DERBYSHIRE
SALARY: £45-50K (Can be more for an exceptional Candidate + Excellent Benefits / Pension, Healthcare, etc.
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday - 7:00am to 4:00pm (Early finish at 2:00pm on Fridays)
Our Client is looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading plastic manufacturer in Derbyshire. This is a hands-on role with an exciting opportunity to work closely with their long-standing Engineering Manager, who is planning to retire within 2-3 years. During this time, you'll play a key part in maintaining and improving machinery and systems - before stepping up into a leadership role and growing your own team of Engineers.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys both practical engineering and is looking for a clear route into management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide electrical breakdown maintenance support across a busy manufacturing site.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to ensure equipment uptime and performance.
Deliver project work, machine refurbishments, and installations.
Support with PLC programming and fault finding.
Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Work alongside the Engineering Manager with a view to stepping into their role upon retirement.
Once promoted, help recruit and develop a new engineering team under your leadership.What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in electrical maintenance engineering within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on electrical systems.
Experience with PLC programming/fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar).
Comfortable with both reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
A proactive, hands-on mindset with a desire to progress into leadership.
Qualifications in Electrical Engineering (Apprenticeship, HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).What's On Offer:
