Stress Engineer – Aircraft Structures (eVTOL)

Location: - Bristol (Hybrid Working)

Salary: - £70,000 – £90,000 + Benefits

An innovative aerospace company developing next-generation electric aircraft is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Stress Engineer to support the design, analysis, and certification of advanced eVTOL platforms. This is an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge, sustainable aviation technology.

The Role

You will deliver structural stress analysis and substantiation across primary and secondary airframe structures.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform stress analysis of metallic and composite structures using hand calculations and FEA

* Substantiate wing, fuselage, and empennage structures

* Produce and review stress reports (PSR, JSR, certification documentation)

* Ensure compliance with FAA/EASA airworthiness standards

* Support design reviews, trade studies, and programme milestones

* Provide peer review and technical guidance within the team

* Interface with certification authorities when required

About You

* Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering

* 6–10 years’ experience in aircraft stress/structural analysis

* Strong knowledge of primary and secondary aircraft structures

* Experience with HyperMesh and Nastran/Patran (nonlinear Solver 400 desirable)

* Solid background in classical methods and aerospace materials

* Strong technical reporting and communication skills

Desirable:

eVTOL experience, Simcenter 3D, HyperSizer/Abaqus, Windchill PLM, team leadership experience.
