Stress Engineer – Aircraft Structures (eVTOL)

Salary: - £70,000 – £90,000 + Benefits
An innovative aerospace company developing next-generation electric aircraft is seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures Stress Engineer to support the design, analysis, and certification of advanced eVTOL platforms. The Role
You will deliver structural stress analysis and substantiation across primary and secondary airframe structures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform stress analysis of metallic and composite structures using hand calculations and FEA
* Substantiate wing, fuselage, and empennage structures
* Produce and review stress reports (PSR, JSR, certification documentation)
* Ensure compliance with FAA/EASA airworthiness standards
* Support design reviews, trade studies, and programme milestones
* Provide peer review and technical guidance within the team
* Interface with certification authorities when required
About You
* Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
* 6–10 years’ experience in aircraft stress/structural analysis
* Strong knowledge of primary and secondary aircraft structures
* Experience with HyperMesh and Nastran/Patran (nonlinear Solver 400 desirable)
* Solid background in classical methods and aerospace materials
* Strong technical reporting and communication skills
Desirable:
eVTOL experience, Simcenter 3D, HyperSizer/Abaqus, Windchill PLM, team leadership experience.
