Elevator Modernization Technician

A fast-growing independent elevator services group, backed by a publicly traded parent company, is expanding its Modernization & Projects team due to sustained national growth and long-term project demand. The Role

You'll work within the Projects / Modernization division, delivering full modernizations and major repairs on hydraulic and traction elevators. This role is focused on longer-term, local projects, providing consistency and structure rather than constant travel.

Key Responsibilities

Complete full elevator modernizations and heavy repairs
Install and commission microprocessor controllers and door equipment
Carry out wiring, fixtures, hoist machines, pumping units, ropes, and packings
Perform inspections and annual safety tests in line with OSHA and regulatory standards
Assess existing equipment and advise on upgrades or modifications
Work independently or as part of a two-person modernization team
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and customer communication

Experience & Qualifications

Licensed Elevator Mechanic or Certified Elevator Technician
4+ years' experience in elevator modernization or heavy repair
Strong hydraulic and traction elevator knowledge
Confident with electrical diagnostics, controllers, and testing equipment
Safety-first mindset and professional customer approach
Full driving licence
Comfortable with physical demands of elevator work
