CNC 4-Axis Horizontal / 5-Axis Milling Engineer
Location: Glasgow
Shift Pattern: 3-shift rotation, Monday-Friday (37 hours/week)
Pay Rate: £22.40 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)
Contract Type: Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading precision engineering business based in Glasgow, currently seeking an experienced CNC 4-Axis Horizontal or 5-Axis Milling Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a time-served machinist or a technically qualified individual with proven experience working to tight tolerances in a high-spec, fast-paced environment.

Shift Pattern (Rotating Shifts):

Early Shift:
Monday to Thursday - 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
Friday - 6:00 am to 1:00 pm

Back Shift:
Monday to Thursday - 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Friday - 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Night Shift:
Monday to Thursday - 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
Friday - 10:00 pm to 5:00 am

Key Responsibilities:

Set, program, and operate 4-axis horizontal or 5-axis milling machines.

Work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.

Monitor and adjust machining processes to ensure precision and productivity.

Carry out routine maintenance to maximise machine uptime.

Inspect finished components to ensure high quality and dimensional accuracy.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist the Manufacturing Lead as needed.

Adhere to all H&S standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Key Requirements:

Proven background in CNC Milling (4-axis horizontal or 5-axis experience essential).

Skilled in reading engineering drawings and using hand tools.

Able to demonstrate programming/editing capability at the machine.

Strong understanding of precision tolerances and quality inspection techniques.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S is desirable.

Previous experience working on Matsuura 5-axis and horizontal machines with Fanuc or G-Tech controls is highly desirable.

Matsuura 35v / 3vs (Fanuc Series 16i-M)

Matsuura 42v / 63v (G-Tech 30i)

Matsuura H-Max & MAM 900 (Fanuc Series 16i-M)
