The Role
We’re looking for an ambitious Accounts Assistant to support the finance team in a broad and hands-on role. This position suits someone confident with transactional finance who’s either experienced at this level or actively studying towards CIMA or ACCA and keen to progress within a production finance setting.
You’ll be working closely with senior finance leaders (CFO and Finance Director), gaining exposure to both operational and management reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP):
* Process purchase ledger invoices, verify supplier details, and ensure correct coding and VAT treatment.
* Prepare weekly creditor listings, secure approvals, and process payments.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
* Raise and process sales invoices, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on overdue balances.
Expense Management:
* Oversee staff expenses and company credit card reconciliations, ensuring compliance with policy and approval processes.
Reconciliations & Cash Flow:
* Perform regular bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow forecasting.
* Reconcile intercompany and job-level accounts between Xero and production actuals.
Additional Support:
* Assist with VAT returns, management accounts preparation, and ad hoc finance projects.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
* Solid understanding of transactional finance (AP/AR, reconciliations, expenses).
* Ability to hit the ground running and work confidently within a small, collaborative team.
* Strong attention to detail and proactive communication skills.
Desirable:
* Experience within a media, TV production, or creative industry environment.
* Active CIMA/ACCA studier looking for progression.
* Experience using Xero accounting software.
* Exposure to VAT, job reconciliations, and management accounts.
