Requirements 

Knowledge and understanding of Social Housing in the borough and how social housing is allocated
Ideally experience of allocating properties in a social housing setting
An understanding of the problems faced by homeless households particularly in temporary accommodation, and a desire to deliver a quality service to disadvantaged groups, within the context of limited resources
Experience of working in a customer facing service and dealing sensitively and effectively with customer issues, particularly in relation to vulnerable people
Experience of lone-working, from remote locations, or an understanding of what this entails.

Responsibilities 

To maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant legislation and Council policy in relation to the statutory provision of social housing. To operate within relevant Codes of Guidance, statutory guidance, council policy and housing legislation.
To ensure the timescales for letting Council and Registered Provider stock are met to meet void turnaround targets to minimise lost revenue of rent. Actively work in partnership with the relevant teams to achieve this as well as identifying new initiatives to help reduce void turnaround times.
To be responsible for organising and hosting viewings, including group viewings at void properties.
To liaise closely with our partner Registered Providers (RP) in relation to nomination requests for their stock, ensuring the terms of the deed of nomination agreement and the council allocation policy are adhered to always.
To maintain a working knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 VI and the Councils Allocation Policy as well as an awareness of the Homelessness act 2002 (as amended) in relation to the allocation and appeals of accommodation.
Responsible for updating the authority’s IT Housing Systems, ensuring all details are correct to ensure accurate records and the legal obligations for both landlord and tenant can be met.

Contract 

Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend 
PAYE via Umbrella
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm - requirement 5 days per week 2 days will be office based. Need to be able to travel around the borough by public transport.
