Academics, acting as an agency, are recruiting caring and committed Personal Care Assistants to work across a range of SEN schools in Doncaster. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity, ideal for someone with experience supporting children or young people with additional and complex needs within an educational setting.

Position: Personal Care Assistant (Education Setting)

Contract: Full-time, temporary (ongoing - potential temp to perm)
School: SEN schools across Doncaster
Pay: £88.94 - £100 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications & client rate available, inclusive of holiday pay)

About the Role

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide essential support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including communication difficulties, sensory needs, and physical or medical requirements. The role involves assisting with personal care, promoting independence, and supporting pupils throughout the school day to ensure they can access learning in a safe and positive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care support, including toileting, feeding, and changing where required.
Assist pupils with physical and sensory needs throughout the school day.
Support access to classroom learning and daily routines.
Implement individual care and education plans under staff supervision.
Promote independence, inclusion, and wellbeing for all pupils.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff.
Safeguard pupils and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Candidate Requirements

✔ Minimum 6 months' experience working within a UK SEN school (essential).
✔ Experience providing personal care for children or young people (essential).
✔ Patient, empathetic, and professional approach.
✔ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
