Science Teacher
Location: Durham, County Durham
Contract: Full-time
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Start Date: February 2026
A Good secondary school in Durham is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Science Teacher to join their successful Science department from February 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop a passion for science, strong analytical skills, and confidence in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Role Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach across KS3 and KS4, with the ability to deliver one or more science specialisms at GCSE level (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support
Monitor pupil progress, assess learning, and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations, ensuring they feel confident and well supported
Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and the continuous improvement of the Science department
Support extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs, science fairs, or enrichment sessions where appropriate
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Science at KS3-KS4
Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (specialism welcomed)
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
A passion for inspiring students and raising achievement in Science
