Tax Assistant – Private Client | Legal Sector | Edinburgh | Full Time or Part Time

Valeco Recruitment is partnering with a leading Scottish law firm to find a Tax Assistant for their highly regarded Private Client team based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent, office-based role with flexible working options and excellent long-term development.

About the Role:
You’ll provide expert support across all areas of private client tax planning including inheritance, succession, and trust taxation. The team works with a wide range of clients including landed estates, family businesses, rural enterprises and high-net-worth individuals.

Responsibilities include:

Providing tax advice relating to IHT, CGT, Income Tax and succession planning

*

Supporting on trust and executry administration from a tax viewpoint

*

Advising on land and property tax implications (LBTT, SDLT)

*

Liaising with clients, solicitors, and internal partners on technical queries

*

Contributing to training and internal development

*

Supporting business development and cross-referrals

Candidate Profile:

*

ATT or CTA qualified, or equivalent experience

*

Minimum 5 years’ experience in personal tax advisory

*

Professional services background (legal/accountancy) preferred

*

Confident in dealing with complex client work

*

Excellent communication and attention to detail

*

Solicitors with relevant tax experience welcome

Location: Edinburgh (office based)

Hours: Full time preferred, part time considered

Contract: Permanent

Salary: DOE with excellent benefits
