Internal Sales Assistant – Electrical Wholesale

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Internal Sales Assistant to join a well-established and expanding electrical wholesale business in Gloucestershire. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a similar setting who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
The Role
As an Internal Sales Assistant, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding service to trade customers, supporting the external sales team, and driving branch performance through proactive sales and product knowledge. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, a strong team player, and commercially driven.
Key Responsibilities
Serve trade customers efficiently and courteously, maintaining high satisfaction levels
Provide expert advice on the selection and use of electrical products
Proactively follow up quotations, handle incoming enquiries, and maximise sales opportunities
Use linked selling and telephone marketing techniques to promote offers and increase order value
Handle special customer orders, liaising with suppliers and internal departments to meet delivery expectations
Ensure customer issues, complaints, and credit/payment concerns are handled effectively
Keep sales and display areas tidy, and product literature up to date
Support external sales efforts through excellent internal coordination
Stay informed on competitor activity and industry developments
Assist with basic site surveys and quantity take-offs when needed
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with company processes
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in an internal sales or trade counter role within an electrical wholesale environment
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Confident telephone manner and sales acumen
Basic technical understanding and ability to interpret plans (desirable)
Driving licence (advantageous)
Any relevant customer service or product training is a plus

Working Hours
Week 1: Monday to Friday – 07:30 to 17:00
Week 2: Monday to Friday – 07:30 to 17:00, Saturday – 08:00 to 12:00
