We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Temporary Accounts Assistant to support a local finance team during a busy period.
This short-term role is ideal for someone with solid accounting knowledge who can quickly adapt and contribute to daily financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and input invoices, payments, and expense claims
Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts
Assist with month-end processes and reporting
Update and maintain financial records and ledgers
Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
Handle petty cash and maintain accurate records
Assist with audit preparation and ad hoc financial tasks
Respond to internal and external finance-related queries
Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations Requirements: Essential:
Previous experience in an accounts assistant or finance support role
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to start immediately or on short notice Desirable:
AAT Level 2 or equivalent qualification (or working towards)
Experience in a similar temporary or contract role
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles
