The role: Maths Teacher
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality maths instruction to students in accordance with the national curriculum. This role requires a strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, effective teaching strategies, and the ability to inspire and engage learners of varying abilities.
Key Stage: 3,4 & 5
Reports to: Head of Department
Employment Type: Full-time,
Salary: MPS /UPS depending on experience
LEA: Telford and Wrekin
Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Mathematics students.
* Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies and national standards.
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports academic achievement and personal growth.
* Use a variety of teaching methods, technologies, and resources to address diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans, assessments, and cross-curricular projects.
* Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as required.
* Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, behaviour, and academic performance.
* Provide support to students outside of regular classroom hours when needed (e.g., tutoring, revision sessions).
* Stay current with developments in mathematics education and engage in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (required).
* Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, B.Ed., or equivalent).
* Proven experience teaching mathematics at secondary level.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
* Passion for mathematics and a commitment to student success.
