Software Engineer– Gloucestershire, Surrey or Hampshire – 6 Month Contract (37.5 hours per week) - £690 - £720 per day (Inside IR35) – Willing to undergo SC Clearance

You’re a Full Stack Software Engineer that enjoys developing novel products; leading, innovating and inventing by bringing the physical and digital together. It’ll involve consulting with customers, defining strategy and understanding how to apply emerging technologies.

Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days on site.

The Key Responsibilities of a Software Engineer:

* Write high-quality, secure code using a test-driven development methodology.

* Develop software that is openly accessible by default and simple for others to adapt or build upon.

* Convert conceptual and logical designs into fully realised technical solutions.

* Create comprehensive and accurate design documentation.

* Record all development work thoroughly, applying agreed standards, tools, and methods, including prototypes when useful.

* Work with both established and emerging technologies, selecting suitable design patterns where needed.

* Integrate UI and API components with existing databases and service endpoints.

* Support and enhance current architectural elements such as data ingestion pipelines, data storage solutions, and REST interfaces.

* Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog and epic refinement, sprint planning, demos, and reviews.

* Help team members understand new or upcoming API capabilities and their implications.

* Collaborate with user-research specialists and accurately represent user perspectives within the team.

* Clearly articulate the difference between actual user needs and what users say they want.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Software Engineer, however you will not be expected to have everything:

* The client seeks individuals who combine strong analytical skills, effective stakeholder communication, and a genuine commitment to national security.

* Experience with modern programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python, or Java.

* Proficiency in at least one front-end framework, including AngularJS, React, or Vue.js.

* Familiarity with Microsoft environments, including IIS and Windows Server.

* Solid understanding of relational database technologies, such as SQL Server.

* Knowledge of containerisation platforms, including Docker and Kubernetes.

* Ability to work with scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.

* Above all, a willingness and capability to rapidly learn new technologies and approaches as they evolve.
