Are you an experienced and highly motivated Site Manager with a proven track record in high-voltage cable installation projects? We are seeking a dedicated Freelance Site Manager to oversee critical 132kV cable installation works on HS2.
This is an exceptional opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of the UK's most significant engineering endeavours. We are looking for a professional who can ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of all on-site activities.
The Role:
As a Freelance Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of 132kV cable installation activities across designated HS2 work packages. Your key responsibilities will include:
Overseeing and managing all site operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Implementing and enforcing robust health and safety procedures, conducting regular site inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture.
Managing and coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and plant, ensuring optimal resource allocation and productivity.
Monitoring project progress against programme, identifying and mitigating potential delays, and reporting on performance.
Ensuring quality control standards are met throughout the installation process.
Liaising effectively with clients, stakeholders, and other contractors.
Managing site logistics, materials, and equipment.
Maintaining comprehensive site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and incident logs.About You:
Essential: Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
Essential: BESC (Basic Electrical Safety Competence) qualification.
Proven experience as a Site Manager on major infrastructure projects, with significant demonstrable experience in 132kV or higher voltage cable installation.
Strong understanding of civil engineering practices related to cable trenching, ducting, and backfill.
Familiarity with HS2 project procedures, standards, and safety protocols is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work autonomously and make critical decisions under pressure.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
A commitment to delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.What We Offer:
