This School is a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Brent, supporting young people aged 5 - 16 who have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream education. The School provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students are empowered to re-engage with learning and build confidence through creativity.
They are currently seeking an experienced Math's Teacher who can bring energy, empathy, and innovation to their small but committed team.
The role
Plan and deliver engaging, accessible Maths lessons for pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
Support vulnerable pupils with SEMH to re-engage with Maths in a safe, supportive environment
Use creative and practical approaches to make numeracy relevant and confidence-building
Track and assess pupil progress against EHCP outcomes and academic targets
Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to develop personalised learning strategies
Promote numeracy across the curriculum and encourage real-world application of Maths
Maintain a calm, structured classroom that fosters emotional regulation and resilience
Provide feedback that is constructive and personalised,
They role requires
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
Experience teaching Math's in mainstream or alternative provisions
A calm, patient, and creative teaching style
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, particularly in SEMH settings
A passion for helping vulnerable young people reach their potential
