Matchtech are working with a long‑established and well‑respected construction contractor in the Northeast, who are looking to appoint an experienced Build Estimator to join their growing commercial team.

The Role

As a Build Estimator, you will support the wider Estimating Team in preparing competitive and compliant tender submissions. You'll play a key part in early project involvement, pricing strategy, and handover to the delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

Review tender documents and contribute to the overall bid strategy
Undertake project site visits to gather essential information
Assess financial, technical, and operational risks
Work with internal teams to determine resource requirements, programme, and pricing approach
Prepare bills of quantities and detailed price breakdowns
Identify and engage with approved suppliers and subcontractors
Prepare and analyse tender submissions, including subcontract enquiries
Coordinate final bid reviews and management sign‑off
Conduct tender handover meetings and present pricing build‑ups
Stay up to date with construction methods, techniques, and industry developments

Requirements

Experience working with JCT and NEC contract forms
Knowledge of Estimating Software (Causeway preferred)
Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
