Location: Bolton (Hybrid – 60/40 office/home split)

A well-established and respected law firm based in Bolton is seeking an experienced Head of Private Client to lead their Private Client department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable team with a strong client base, offering hybrid working with a 60/40 office/home split.

The Role:

As Head of Private Client, you will take on a senior leadership position within the firm, managing a team while handling a high-quality caseload of private client matters. Your responsibilities will include:

* Leading the Private Client department and supporting team development

* Managing a caseload of complex wills, probate, trusts, tax planning, and lasting powers of attorney

* Overseeing high-value and sensitive estates, including those with business or agricultural elements

* Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships

* Ensuring compliance, supervision, and mentoring of junior staff

Requirements:

* Minimum 10 years’ experience in private client law (essential)

* Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a legal team

* Strong technical knowledge across all areas of private client work

* STEP qualification is desirable but not essential

* Confident with client care, team collaboration, and strategic input
