Field Service Engineer

Location: Outskirts of Bedford

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: TBC

Our client is a leading manufacturer supplying customers across beverage, food, logistics and general manufacturing sectors. They are seeking a qualified Multi Skilled Field Service Engineer to join their service team supporting installations, commissioning, maintenance and repair activities across the UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, commissioning, repair and refurbishment of packaging machinery
Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair
Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams
On-site customer support and technical troubleshooting
Completion of service reports and documentation
Occasional travel overseas for training and machine testing
Working flexible hours depending on customer requirements
Essential Requirements

Qualified Multi Skilled Engineer (Mechanical and/or Electrical)
Ability to read electrical diagrams and fault find from them
Strong mechanical fault finding and repair skills
Good diagnostic and problem-solving ability
Basic PLC fault finding knowledge
Willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland
Willingness to stay away from home (typically up to 5 days, occasionally longer)
Flexible approach to working hours
Full clean driving licence
Competent in MS Office
Strong communication and report writing skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Fluent written and spoken English
Desirable Skills

Previous Field Service experience
Knowledge of end-of-line packaging machinery
Experience with Siemens S7, TIA Portal and/or Allen Bradley platforms
Knowledge of servo drives and inverter drives
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems knowledge
Additional Information

Overtime paid door-to-door outside of normal working hours
Ongoing training and development provided
