We're working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Croydon that is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral and inclusion team this September. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone with experience in youth work, SEND, or behaviour support who is looking to make a real difference in education.
? About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with students identified as needing additional support with behaviour, attendance, or emotional regulation. You'll act as a positive role model, helping them to engage in learning, develop social skills, and overcome challenges that may be affecting their school life.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions
Support students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties
De-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to implement behaviour plans
Track progress and contribute to pastoral reports and student reviews
? Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people, especially those with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Confident, calm, and consistent under pressure
Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies
Background in education, psychology, youth work or similar (degree desirable but not essential)
