The Role

Working as Fabric Operative, you’ll carry out general building work operations on a range of assets owned by the MOD, throughout the Northwest region.

Your duties will include:

* Undertake routine repairs or minor works including joinery, painting and decoration, general building works, ground works or general plumbing.

* Deliver Scheduled, Reactive and Remedial maintenance services as directed by the RFCA office team, ensuring that operational standards are always maintained.

* Complete suitable risk assessments prior to undertaking works and undertake works as per instructions within any relevant permit or work plan.

* This role will also include other operative tasks such as basic fabric, electrical and general operative tasks.

* Assisting Maintenance Engineers in electrical and mechanical maintenance where required

Our Requirements

Due to the nature of the works, this role is subject to BPSS security clearance which includes a Basic DBS Check. You will also be required to be on a call out rota 1 out of every 5 weeks.

You will also have:

* Experience within a similar maintenance role

* Minimum Level 2 NVQ qualification in a relevant building discipline

* CSCS Card

* Formal apprenticeship or craft trained equivalent

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to manage time and workload effectively

* Enthusiasm and be a self-starter

* A full UK manual driving licence

The Package

* Salary up to £42,500 depending on experience

* Working Monday-Friday 8am – 4:30pm (site & job specific)

* Door to Door Travel paid at normal time

* 33 Days holiday inclusive of bank holidays plus your birthday off!
