Industrial Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for a Production/Welding Engineer for their Automotive Client in the West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent role within a well-established and growing business.
Hours:
*
10:00–18:00, Monday–Friday (37.5 hours/week)
*
Support until 20:00 may be required if production issues arise
Pay Rate:

Competitive (dependant on experience and ability)
Job Duties:
*
Support production in setting up manual welding machines (both spot and projection)
*
Set up CO2 and spot-welding robot cells as production requires
*
Carry out jig and program changes on CO2 and spot-welding machines (robot and manual)
*
Support production in solving problems and breakdowns in a professional manner, ensuring production is back up and running as soon as possible
*
Programme new jobs to be processed through camera poke yoke systems
*
Take responsibility for upkeep of machines and report any issues to the production engineering team
*
Ensure that any MaintainX job cards raised are completed in a timely manner
*
Adhere to health and safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures, and make sure department colleagues do the same
*
Manufacture and repair welding fixtures, check gauges and related equipment as required
*
Provide support to new projects’ team for the introduction of new business, including trial runs and process validation
*
Communicate efficiently with colleagues and stakeholders, delivering accurate information
*
Perform any additional tasks within the role’s capabilities, or as directed by the process engineering team or other members of staff
*
Undertake pass-off checks on parts when the Quality team is unavailable
Key Issues:

Support production in meeting its weekly goals
*
Support new projects team with the introduction of new work into the business
*
Ensure all daily maintenance is kept up to date in your area
*
Look at OEE on existing processes and carry out improvements
*
Support in the design and manufacturing of weld fixtures
*
Help the Quality department solve production-related quality issues
*
Be a team player and communicate effectively at all levels
Requirements:
*
Knowledge of press work
*
Knowledge of PLC systems
*
Experience with CO2, spot, and projection welding
*
Robot programming knowledge (Fanuc or Motoman)
*
NVQ or C&G in mechanical engineering (desirable)
*
Forklift licence (desirable)
*
Abrasive wheel regulations knowledge (desirable)
