Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Street Cleaning Operative to join Stoke on Trent Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cleansing Operative to help keep Stoke-on-Trent clean, safe, and welcoming. You’ll be part of a dedicated team delivering high-quality street and car park cleansing services across the city.

Key responsibilities include:

Carrying out street and public space cleaning, including removing litter, fly-tipping, and graffiti

*

Emptying bins and maintaining public toilets and car parks

*

Using a range of cleaning equipment and ensuring safe working practices

*

Supporting seasonal tasks like snow clearance and gritting

What we’re looking for:

Experience in cleansing or cleaning roles

Knowledge of health and safety regulations

Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly

Willingness to work flexibly across various sites

Commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards across the city
