We’re looking for an experienced Housing Officer to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused housing and tenancy management service across a defined patch of approximately 350 properties. This is a varied, hands-on role covering income management, lettings, tenancy and estate management, with a strong focus on resident engagement and sustaining tenancies.
This is a great opportunity to join a supportive housing team on a minimum 2-month contract, offering hybrid working, a varied caseload, and the chance to make a real difference to local communities. Based in Dudley, you’ll manage your own patch with autonomy while being fully supported by an experienced wider team.

Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer:

Manage a defined patch, delivering end-to-end tenancy management including new tenancies, successions, abandonments and tenancy sustainment
Deliver an effective lettings service, managing voids, allocations and pre-tenancy processes to achieve turnaround targets
Manage rent accounts and arrears, taking early preventative action, conducting home visits and progressing cases through to court where required
Resolve anti-social behaviour, nuisance and neighbour disputes in line with policy and agreed timescales
Act as a visible presence on estates, carrying out inspections and responding to environmental, safety and communal issues
Provide advice and signposting around welfare benefits, debt support and tenancy responsibilities
Build strong relationships with residents, local authorities and partner agencies to deliver joined-up services
Actively listen to customer feedback and support resident engagement initiatives to help shape services
 
What We’re Looking For in a Housing Officer:

Experience in a social housing or housing management role
Strong knowledge of housing law, tenancy management and income recovery
Confident handling difficult conversations, including arrears and ASB cases
Excellent communication and customer service skills
IT literate with good numeracy skills
Organised, performance-focused and able to manage a varied workload
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
