My client is searching for a Private Client Solicitor to join their growing firm based in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire.

Job Purpose

• To advise on a broad range of private client matters, undertake research, prepare documents and correspondence, interview clients and negotiate on behalf of clients.
• To contribute to their mission of establishing lifelong relationships with all their clients by anticipating and responding to the client’s needs for quality legal services

Main Duties

• To manage a varied caseload of private client matters including:

- Wills
- Probate
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Court of Protection cases

• To take a proactive approach in building professional relationships with clients and other contacts
• To maintain and promote the good image and reputation of the firm
• To assist colleagues, Directors and Heads of Department with marketing and training events and initiatives
• To manage and supervise junior staff and support staff as required including assisting with recruitment, training etc

The ideal candidate

• The successful candidate will ideally be at least 3 years PQE (preferably having attained the STEP diploma)
• The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling their own caseload
• The ideal candidate will demonstrate good experience in the areas of wills, probate, powers of attorney, Court of Protection applications, and trusts.
• Experience with HNW individuals, estate planning matters and farming clients is also desirable.
• The candidate will work well as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
• Candidates must be IT literate.
• You will have strong client care and interpersonal skills.
• You must be self-motivated and have a desire to participate in business development activities.
