Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 2 (Year 5 ASD/ADHD Support)

Weekly Pay: £480 - £500
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Long Term Futures is proud to be working with a welcoming and well-led primary school in OFSTED rated 'Good' school Nuneaton, who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a child in Year 5 with additional needs. This role will involve a mixture of 1:1 support, whole classroom assistance and helping the pupil to access learning in a structured and nurturing environment. The role is offered on a long-term basis with a potential to become permanent.
The Role
Provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with ASD and ADHD, helping them to engage with learning
Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and adapting activities where needed
Support the child with focus, organisation and emotional regulation throughout the school day
Use consistent strategies to encourage positive behaviour and build confidence
Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy or social development
Help maintain a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
Work closely with teachers, SENCO and wider staff to meet individual learning needs
Support progress monitoring and provide feedback to staff where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 2
Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD or other SEND on a 1:1 basis
A calm, patient and proactive approach to behaviour and emotional support
Confidence delivering structured interventions and personalised learning support
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
A Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (or equivalent)
