Money Marketing, the award-winning title for the UK’s financial adviser profession, is looking for a sharp, driven and digitally minded Chief Reporter to lead our news agenda and help shape the future of our editorial output.

This is a senior newsroom position with real influence. You’ll be responsible for generating high-impact exclusives, shaping feature content and playing a key role in the evolution of our online-first strategy.

You’ll also help mentor reporters, support content planning and commissioning, and contribute to audio-visual and editorial innovation.

Key responsibilities:

News leadership: Deliver exclusive, off-diary news stories that set the industry agenda. Build and maintain deep contacts within the financial services sector to ensure Money Marketing breaks stories first.

Feature development: Pitch, write and edit engaging feature content. Collaborate with the team on new section ideas and help refine best practices across interviews, opinion pieces and longform journalism.

Editorial strategy: Work with the editor to refresh and align our news and features content in line with our digital transformation. Help streamline workflows and forward planning across the team.

Commissioning and editing: Liaise with freelancers, help manage the feature pipeline and contribute to weekly scheduling and sub-editing.

Digital and multimedia: Support the development of a focused audio and video content strategy, with a view to boosting engagement and quality over quantity. Analyse performance data and shape future output.

Key skills & experience:

Proven experience in news journalism, ideally in B2B or financial services

A strong news sense with a track record of breaking exclusives

Excellent writing and editing skills across both news and features

Experience commissioning and managing freelance contributors

An understanding of digital publishing, including content planning, SEO and audience engagement

Comfortable working across multimedia platforms (audio, video, social)

A collaborative mindset with a desire to mentor and share knowledge

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
