Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Major Healthcare Project – Shrewsbury

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a major new-build healthcare project in Shrewsbury, valued at over £200m. This is a great role for someone looking to gain hands-on experience on a high-profile project, working alongside an experienced commercial team from early stages through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the commercial team with procurement and subcontractor engagement

*

Assist with cost tracking, valuations, and invoice submissions

*

Help monitor subcontractor performance and manage payments

*

Contribute to reporting, forecasting, and risk management activities

*

Gain experience working under NEC contracts

*

Assist with the preparation of final accounts and cost reconciliations

Requirements:

*

Some experience within a commercial or site-based construction role

*

Basic understanding of NEC or similar contract forms

*

Strong numeracy and communication skills

*

Full UK driving licence and appropriate CSCS card

Desirable:

Working towards or holding a construction-related qualification

*

Previous experience on large-scale or healthcare projects
