Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join their team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Your expertise in machining techniques and ability to interpret blueprints and specifications will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and quality of the final products. You will also be required to deal with customers and their alteration requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments
- Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each job
- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Troubleshoot issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain production efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Machinist or similar role
- Proficient in operating various machine tools
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tools, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and precision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
