Job Description

As a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will deliver safe, effective, and person-centred nursing care to individuals with a wide range of mental health needs. You will work within NHS mental health units, inpatient wards, crisis services, specialist mental health care homes, and community-based environments, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and patient support.

Responsibilities

Carry out comprehensive mental health assessments and risk assessments
* Administer medications and maintain accurate clinical documentation
* Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions and emotional support
* Support patients experiencing acute mental health challenges and distress
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes
* Lead and supervise care staff to ensure high standards of practice
* Promote patient safety, dignity, and recovery-focused care
* Respond effectively to clinical emergencies and challenging situationsRequirements

NMC-registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
Minimum 6 months post-registration experience in a UK mental health setting
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
* Up-to-date mandatory training (PMVA/MAPA or equivalent desirable)
* Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
