Site Engineer – Civil Engineering (TPU – Huddersfield)

Up to £350/day (Inside IR35)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Engineer to join a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor on a major infrastructure scheme in Huddersfield, as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TPU). This is a key role with a strong focus on setting out and groundworks, supporting critical early-stage construction works.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurate setting out for drainage, foundations, formwork, and utilities
Ensure work is delivered in line with design specifications and quality standards
Daily site briefings, progress reporting, and QA documentation
Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors, and design teams
Monitor HSEQ compliance on site
Requirements:

Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Proven experience in groundworks and setting out on major civils/infrastructure projects
Competency with Total Station/GPS surveying equipment and CAD software
Strong understanding of CDM and temporary works
Valid CSCS and ideally SMSTS/SSSTS
